Work Showhouse

I've always thought that I would be in commercial design after graduating college a few years ago.  And after working 2 different jobs in the commercial field finding myself always stressed out about building codes, material standards, etc.... I decided to move towards residential design.  Only about 2 months into the field and I LOVE IT!  There is so much more flexibility in materials and ideas - and it's always great to see and help excited homeowners with projects!

Below are some photos of a show-house room that two of the other designers at Stickley, Audi & Co., along with myself, put together for a home that is being shown in Guilderland, NY next week.

Congrats Sister!

Went up to Cazenovia last weekend to see Suzie graduate college with her Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education.  So proud of her and excited that she'll be traveling for 2 months with a family nannying - and then moving to the Boston area to nanny full-time for a family there while making a decision about Grad school.  Go Suzie-Q!!  Love you!

Rawrr... Give me coffee!

Found myself giggling at this so thought I would share... I'm sure there are plenty of you out there that will totally agree with this artwork.  I definitely need at least 2 cups of coffee to get me going everyday so I'm not an angry T-Rex A Grumpasaurus!  Found it while searching obsessively on Etsy - thank you Hairbrained Schemes!  :)

World's Largest Wooden Structure

Came across this little gem (or maybe I should say large gem...) while browsing the internet.  The Metropol Parasol is the largest wooden structure in the world - located in Seville, Spain.  How cool is this thing??  Makes for some awesome photos.

The warm weather is starting to get more consistence and I am super excited for it!  Last night, Jesse and I enjoyed an awesome steak dinner he made - and then topped it off with a campfire and s'mores.  MmMmm!
