A Beautiful Soul

Back in January, our family lost the most beautifully souled person I have ever known in my life - my Grandmother. Below are two pictures of her in the 1950s during the time she worked for Kodak in Rochester, NY.  We recently came across these as we were cleaning out the old brick school house at the farm.  A loving and caring woman that always thought of everyone else before herself...  Xo.

My New Camera!

I have finally splurged a little and bought myself a Nikon D3100... I've been thinking about it for awhile and finally decided to just DO IT!  Someone at work suggested the D3100 because it is a great beginner camera and intro into SLR photography - which so far I have to agree.  Below are some shots I took today with it, and then I did a little editing with picmonkey.

At work - some traditional moroccan pepper sauce we sell.

Driving home after visiting my parents tonight - Overlook Mt.

Some aged spice containers from my grandma's house since we cleaned out the pantry.

Galway Girl

A day late, but it's not really St. Patrick's Day until you hear this song.  :)

Happy Belated St. Patty's!!

2013 Spring / Summer Project

Since I've been knitting I have only worked on small projects that are done very quickly and easily... I am finally going to commit myself to making an item of clothing.  I figure if I start now, by the time it's fall I will have a warm and cozy poncho to wear!  I found the Easy Folded Poncho Pattern online (the word Easy caught my attention for my first clothing project).  And I have to make a shout out to A Wooden Nest because I chose to use Fisherman's Wool for the yarn due to her results with it.

And of course, Louie is obsessed with the project... stereotypical cat with a ball of yarn.

Fashion with Blankets

Ok - so this is pretty cool... one of those moments that you say to yourself 'why didn't I think of that?'.  I love checking out blogs throughout the week, and Sincerly, Kinsey  is one of them on my list.  She has taken blankets found in thrift shops and made these awesome tops.  I'm going to have to check a good eye out for woven textiles now and give this challenge a try myself.
